At the end of 2013, the Chris Buck (Tarzan) & Jennifer Lee (Wreck-It Ralph) co-directed animation film Frozen took the world by storm. The movie even received the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 86th Academy Awards. With 2015 inching closer, there are a slew of new animation films wanting to take Frozen’s spot and one of them is Home. Hitting theaters on March 27th, Home centers on Earth as it’s being taken over by the overly confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, and all humans are promptly relocated while all DreamWorks Home Movie PosterBoov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh. The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime. Directed by Tim Johnson (Antz), the animated movie features the voices of Rihanna (Battleship), Jennifer Lopez (Maid in Manhattan), Steve Martin (Cheaper By The Dozen), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), and Matt Jones (Breaking Bad). The trailer was recently released and to be honest, I can honestly see this film winning an Academy Award.

With Johnson being the director of Antz, an animation film that I saw and enjoyed, I’m sure that Home is going to be just as entertaining. Although both are entertainers, I don’t recall either Rihanna or Lopez collaborating on a project so I’m glad that Home is the film to finally do that. After watching him in Bringing Down The House with Queen Latifah and Eugene Levy, Martin has become one of my favorite comedic actors and I know he will have the Home audience somehow laughing. All in all, Home looks like a great animation film that will resonate very well with audiences. You can view the trailer to Home below and be sure to check the film out when it hits theaters on March 27th.
